Is it just me or does this year seem to be flying by? We’re almost in June which means that it’s the sixth month of the year which means this year is halfway through!

I try not to be hard on myself when it comes to looking at what I’ve accomplished so far but recently I can’t help but dwell. Being in your twenties is such an interesting age frame to be in and granted my fave thus far. Everyone’s finding out who they are, what they want to do for their careers, getting married, having babies, buying houses, traveling across the world, etc. As for me I am still trying to pursue my dream as an actress. With feeling down with not booking auditions recently or feeling down here and there, I decided to start reading some self-help books.

The first one I started with and wanted to share with you all is, You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. Let me tell you I LOVED it! Reading this book gave me the extra push to give me the confidence I need as an actress and back to working on my goals. If you’re like me and are a goal-getter than you may like these following tips that stood out to me:

Most answers reveal themselves through doing, not thinking.
Do NOT waste hours/days/years trying to perfect the next move, JUST DO IT!
Look at where you are in life and see where you’re letting yourself down in taking on your goals. Decide how you can improve in certain areas.
Get clear on exactly what you want to accomplish and put a plan in place to achieve it.
Comparison is the fastest way to take all the fun out of life.

What I learned from all of this is that you just need to go for it. Don’t believe the thoughts that tell you, you’re not good enough. Stop comparing yourself and work hard. Enjoy the journey and don’t waste a second doubting yourself. It’s easier said than done but every minute wasted on self doubt adds up and takes away time from your future. I’m trying to live my life like this from now on and would love to hear what your journey is too if you’re reading this!
