FOODIE IN LA

    Hey there, Hot TEA!

Girl time for me is very important especially when all of your friends live in different area codes. I noticed the older you get the harder it is to compare everyone's schedules and pick a day. One of my best friends suggested we have a tea party at this spot called, Morning Lavender OC. As soon as I looked it up and saw how cute this place was of course I was down!

Knowing the type of location we would be in we all decided to wear floral dresses. I happened to stumble upon on this cute little floral dress from Forever 21! I paired it with my Taupe Steve Madden heels in the style Lulla. I am obsessed with 70's style so when I found out Steve Madden had these 70s-esque cute wooden heels in taupe I knew I had to have them.

When the day finally came I made my way over to one of my old hometowns Tustin where this cute little shop is located and met up with my girlfriends there. We reserved our tea party at 10am and from what I can remember I think you have your spot for two hours. As soon as you walk into Morning Lavender you're presented with so much cute girly decor and literally feel like you're living in an Instagram photo. You will find yourself saying, "Omg so cute" at least 100 hundred times while you're there!

We had our tea party outside on the patio which is adorable and perfect for a sunny day. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by our waiter who was very attentive and also very helpful to accommodate our friend who has a nut allergy. Our tea party spread included: finger sandwiches, scones, a petite yogurt cup and a strawberry croissant. All the treats were extremely delicious and gone within seconds! We also got to choose a total of 3 teas, I believe since there were 3 of us. We ended up choosing the Earl Grey Lavender, Marrakesh Mint and Peaches & Cream. All three were phenomenal and it made me appreciate tea much more since I'm more of a coffee gal. We really enjoyed our time there and decided to check out the boutique inside once we were finished.

My friend introduced me to lavender drinks and let me tell you I love them now! So you know I had to try the lavender latte while I was here, also because Lavender is in their name. I wish there was a location in LA because I would be getting one frequently if I lived close. It was so good and gave me a ton of energy. I will definitely be getting another one when I visit Orange County.

The boutique was gorgeous and filled with so many eye catching outfits. I had no idea that Kim from Lace and Locks was the owner, which explains why this place is so cute! If you're looking for a good day date with your girlfriends I highly suggest visiting this place. It's the perfect place to have lunch, chat and shop with your friends!

    Somewhere down the Pier

Helllllllloooo (in the Mrs. Doubtfire voice) welcome to my very first food blog. It's been brought to my attention by a few friends that I try so many food places so I thought why not start blogging about food too. I mean if I'm gonna snapchat pics of my food might as well bring the pics to the good ole blog. I promise to make it interesting and hopefully inspiring to visit these places.

So I decided I'm going to blog about Malibu Farms! I'm sure if you are an Angeleno/Millennial/Foodie/Own an Instagram account than I'm sure Malibu Farms is no mystery to you. Well this past weekend I decided to brave LA traffic and make a trip to this beaut down the pier. Let me tell you this place is so inviting.

Upon walking into the restaurant you are greeted by Malibu Farms the restaurant not to be confused with the cafe. (side note: Parking is a pain. We parked down the street and got an uber there and it was way worth the ride.) Anyways when you walk up the whole entrance onto the pier is so picture worthy. It's like something you see out of the movies at least in my opinion. I am all about ambiance and this place is high in my books. So we made the trip down the pier and instantly saw how rustic this cafe looked. From the plants outside to the cute little signs to the mason jars.

We got there at a good time around early afternoon because after we ordered and got a table the line was out the door. I really wanted to sit on the upstairs deck but it was pretty crowded so thankfully we got a spot inside which was still super cute. There are wooden tables with some sunflowers on top and "fur patches" on the bench. The benches are a good size so it's a great spot to eat with friends or to go on a date.

I am by no means a food critic because I rarely meet a food I don't like (not ashamed) so hopefully I can at least give you a general idea of what it tasted like. Everything on the menu sounded good and I narrowed down my decision based on what seemed the most filling without breaking the bank (or feeling like I needed to make a fast food stop after I ate) I ended up ordering the grilled chicken breast sandwich which had lemon aioli, red onion, lettuce and argula. It came with a salad and some type of vegetable on top. Picture is below and I still can't figure out with it is so if you do comment below or on my instagram! I unfortunately didn't get a juice simply because it was pretty expensive so no mason jars pictures from me.

I thought the chicken sandwich tasted really good. It could have used a little more sauce though. It was a bit dry but the lemon aioli helped add a little more zazz. The chicken had a great lemony juicy taste accompanied by the crunch of the onion. The salad was good too but I wish it had a bit more dressing. The food definitely tasted healthy and I would definitely eat here again. I loved how I didn't feel greasy or heavy. Plus the views of the ocean were aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to grow up in California. So if you're curious about trying this place I think you should!
